The African Serval Cat
The African Serval Cat is native to Africa, has the longest legs relative to body size of any cat on Earth, and uses its acute sense of hearing to hunt its carnivorous prey. The beautiful Serval Cat has a diet much like that of our own pet house cats, which includes small birds, insects, rats, mice, reptiles and frogs. Leaping up to a over 6 and a half feet in one jump, it kills its prey with an unforgiving crunch to the neck of the hapless animal.
This lovely image of a mutant black Serval Cat was captured in a fleeting moment by wildlife photographer, George Turner.
